The POYP curriculum integrates all aspects of yoga so that its graduates have established themselves in a transformative personal practice where they master techniques which over time they begin to share with their students. The yoga journey is one that requires discipline and focus – as teachers we must do our own practice if we are to evolve. POYP will provide the foundation for this personal growth and create teachers who are exceptional.
POYP introduces students to many techniques from the yoga and tantra traditions which are used on the path of self-mastery. The ideal POYP student is someone who is able to see past the current yoga industry hype and is committed to work the path of self-mastery.
Currently the Program is designed with 5 modules of 5 day duration only.
Absolutely not! We encourage anyone who is interested in the yoga tradition to register and grow. We recognize that limitations in many of the existing yoga trainings and programs that exist and encourage anybody who is interested to attend. Note however that the content of POYP is not geared towards beginners; some level of prior knowledge of the yoga tradition is necessary.
POYP is approved by the Yoga Alliance as a 300-hour supplemental to an existing 200-hour certification. The initial certification should be from a Yoga Alliance recognized yoga school. If not, please contact POYP directly.
No. Anyone who is interested but unsure about whether or not they want to commit to all five modules is welcome to register for any one.
No. We have structured the courses in such a way that they can be taken in any order.
Yes. If you are able to commit to completing each of the five modules in the calendar year you can register and pay the cost of four modules and receive the fifth free. We post dates for the trainings sufficiently in advance so that you can make necessary arrangements to attend.
This is an interesting question. The branding of hatha yoga that has come about of late has many people interested in styles. POYP content is based in the rich and ancient teachings of the traditions of yoga and tantra. It includes elements of middle-path Tantra and Classic Yoga (Patanjali).
