About Us

Yoga teachers, are you ready to move your practice and teaching to a whole new level?

The Power of Yoga Program (POYP) offers you the opportunity to take your practice and teaching to new places. As in life, our understanding of yoga should continue to expand so that we are making the most of it personally and teaching to transform.

The POYP is geared to 200-hour certified yoga teachers who are ready for this transformation. The essentials of the 200-hour level act as a foundation. POYP graduates use more subtle yoga techniques leading to a richer personal journey and becoming a more effective teacher.

Much of what we learn at the 200-hour level is steeped in the physical aspects of yoga, specifically asana. Asana, while beneficial on many levels, do not have the effectiveness of more subtle techniques. These are taught through qualified teachers who have mastered the techniques in their personal practices. You will learn how to do this.

At this level, yoga is a lifestyle, a way of being in the world. We teach from a Tantric philosophy where everything in life provides an opportunity to learn and grow. We move beyond the exercise approach to yoga integrating more techniques into our practice. We transform ourselves and in so doing are able to transform others.

If you are ready to use yoga as a vehicle to heal, this is your program.

This course meets the needs of our modern society with all of its imbalances - including many approaches to yoga. The wisdom of the sages has been shared from teacher to student for thousands of years; we honour our teacher and that tradition, bringing the teachings to you.

Power of Yoga Program’s curriculum is designed to bring out the best in us.

Building on 200-hour certification, graduates of the POYP will:

  • explore and master subtle yoga techniques - pranayama, bandha, mudra, kriya, mantra, meditation

  • understand the energetic benefits of poses – how they effect the energy systems (vayus) in the body and are used for specific purposes
  • explore how the solar (ha) and the lunar (tha) energies and the nadis work
  • sequence to achieve specific goals – enhancing vitality, building integration, centering and grounding, building agni (fire), for example
